Getaway Cabin is located on a quiet road within walking distance of town! With 1 king, 2 queens, and a sleeper sofa, the cabin comfortably sleeps 8. On the snacks and small plates front, we started with an order of crab and bacon hushpuppies, beef tartare, and foie gras nigiri which was a limited special during our visit. Hemlock House is located in the former Map Room space in Regent Square, and originally Sickels was thinking of moving the pizzeria to that location.

Our only real regret from our first visit was that we got in before the restaurant had its full liquor license and bar program established, so we couldn’t quite see what the pub has in store for the cocktail side of the menu. Guests at the Hemlock House are independent from Hemlock Hall, even in season.
For now, in lieu of the license, Hemlock House is partnering with local beer and liquor places for extended pop-ups inside the establishment. The menu varies weekly, but a recent list included a lemon-caper tofu dish, an eggplant agrodolce sandwich, and an orecchiette and mushroom soup. Since founding the site in 2015, we have explored over 1,300 attractions, restaurants, bars/breweries, events, cool public spaces, and so many more things to do in Pittsburgh. Thankfully, to fill the gap Kingfly Spirits and Arboretum Trail Brewing were hosting in-house popups featuring their cocktails (on separate billing) to serve up the drinks along with the food. The beef tartare was another small plate that had Asian inspired elements as the beef was topped with a soy cured egg yolk, shoyu (soy sauce), miso, and more. While the meet was the star of the show here, the light soy and miso flavors were present and added a nice umami richness with subtle sweetness overall. The only organization to support all six ballot initiatives. Allowed to die; John Ashcroft was the governor of Missouri at that time.

The Crystal Lake Stingers Hockey Club is a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) mite travel hockey division and the AAU affiliate, Chicago United Hockey League (CUHL) . The Stingers mite(U6-U8) full-ice hockey program is based at the Crystal Ice House in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Fire Wagon operates the Yellowjackets hockey club (YJ) and is a proud member of USA Hockey, Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois, Northern Illinois Hockey League, and the Northwest Hockey League. The YJ is under the guidance and supervision of our Hockey Director, Steve Martins.

Crystal clear water tumbles past oaks and sycamores, and this is a fine venue for a directionless romp through nature for those disinterested in following the trail. A half-dozen cabins are spread out along the bottom of the canyon, along with another half-dozen stone foundations (ruins left over from the early days of the Angeles).

Hockey Power focuses on forward and backward skating, stops, turns, transitions and explosive starts. Skaters become more powerful, stable, explosive, and efficiently fast. The Basic Skills curriculum is available to skaters age 7 and over who are taking their first steps on the ice. Instructors use engaging activities to teach the FUNdamentals of ice skating. The six progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers and turns with agility, balance, coordination and speed as main focuses. Through these skills, skaters enter the first stage of skills to begin exploring the world of skating.
Normally, the trail crosses to the north side of the canyon and climbs a series of switchbacks to get to Icehouse Saddle. However, when that white thing that is usually foreign to Southern California covers the ground, the consensus becomes to take a direct track right up the center of the canyon. We are a non-profit recreation destination open 18 hours a day 359 days a year. We serve more than 500,000 visitors and host over 650 hockey and figure skating events annually. CRYSTAL ICE HOUSE
The trail passes these current and past dwellings, ascending gradually into a wilderness with less and less human impact. Icehouse Canyon is located in a beautiful stretch of the Angeles National Forest near Mount Baldy Village, just southeast of the mighty Mount Baldy. At 7,500 feet, this low point in the ridgeline offers sweeping views of the western San Gabriel Mountains.

In recent years, as the area has experienced warmer winters, Crystal Ice Cave seems to be melting, according to a short video from the National Parks Service. The Parks Service did not open Crystal Ice Cave tours in 2020 due to high temperatures, which prevent the monumental ice formations from freezing and leave areas of the cave wet and too dangerous to traverse. The cave is usually accessible via private tours on Saturdays from January through March, which can only be booked over the phone and tend to fill up fast, according to Gizmodo. At one point, the ice cave tours took as many as 40 people—until rangers noticed the tours caused an enormous, unnatural spike in temperature and reduced the group size to six.

The Icehouse Canyon Trail continues straight ahead, eventually crossing over to the south side of the creek. Incense Cedars and firs become the dominant arbors, and 0.8 miles past the junction, the trail crosses a sign marking the boundary of the Cucamonga Wilderness. This is the halfway point by mileage, but in some ways, the hike is just beginning.
Ice Explorers is a class designed for skaters under four years old, or any skater who is not ready to be on the ice by themselves. They will be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will also be learning basic skating skills on the ice with their skater. Home to Yellowjackets Hockey Club, Wagon Wheel Figure Skating Club, Crystal Lake Stingers Hockey Club, and four high school hockey teams. The facility hosts numerous hockey tournaments and skating exhibitions throughout the year. A variety of programs are offered including Learn to Skate classes for all ages, public skating, rat hockey, stick and puck, Adult Hockey Leagues, and curling.
From the saddle, hikers and backpackers may continue on in several directions to explore nearby peaks and venture deeper into the Cucamonga Wilderness. The single-track to Icehouse Saddle climbs 2,600 feet over 3.6 miles and is an exceptional hike. Figure Skating designed to provide additional time on the ice, offer specialized on-ice & off-ice classes, and teach skaters and families what it means to be a figure skater. ASPIRE ICE is a monthly program that includes 2 hours of freestyle ice per week, ALL ASPIRE ICE sessions, an On-Ice Variety Class, and an Off-Ice Conditioning Class. A freestyle session is for figure skating practice or private lessons. This program is designed for players that are beginner or novice skilled hockey players that want game experience to increase their game skills.
The YJ offers many hockey opportunities for all levels of players, from a beginner, new to the sport, an experienced player playing travel hockey or recreational player, participating in our in- house program. All ages, public skating, rat hockey, stick and puck, Adult League Hockey, and curling.

From the saddle, hikers and backpackers may continue on in several directions to explore nearby peaks and venture deeper into the Cucamonga Wilderness. The single-track to Icehouse Saddle climbs 2,600 feet over 3.6 miles and is an exceptional hike. Figure Skating designed to provide additional time on the ice, offer specialized on-ice & off-ice classes, and teach skaters and families what it means to be a figure skater. ASPIRE ICE is a monthly program that includes 2 hours of freestyle ice per week, ALL ASPIRE ICE sessions, an On-Ice Variety Class, and an Off-Ice Conditioning Class. A freestyle session is for figure skating practice or private lessons. This program is designed for players that are beginner or novice skilled hockey players that want game experience to increase their game skills.
Ice Explorers is a class designed for skaters under four years old, or any skater who is not ready to be on the ice by themselves. They will be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will also be learning basic skating skills on the ice with their skater. Home to Yellowjackets Hockey Club, Wagon Wheel Figure Skating Club, Crystal Lake Stingers Hockey Club, and four high school hockey teams. The facility hosts numerous hockey tournaments and skating exhibitions throughout the year. Snowplow Sam 1-4 invites children age 6 and younger to learn the joys of ice skating in a safe, introductory setting. Young skaters will have fun while learning how to fall and get back up, how to march across the ice, and ultimately build confidence in themselves and their abilities. Hockey SPS and Figure SPS classes are divided into four progressive levels for kids with no prior skating experience, help preschool-age skaters develop the coordination and strength to move across the ice.
